Introducing Scholar’s Voice™
Have you heard us hint at some changes coming in the Academic Womxn Amplified world? Have you noticed all the new voices and people you’ve heard in episodes in the last year or so?
In today’s episode we’re finally letting you in on our secret: We have a new company name and brand! We share all about the ‘why’ behind the name change, everything you can expect to stay the same, and what new things you’ll see as we move forward with Scholar’s Voice™.
MORE DETAILS
The Heart Behind the Name Change:
This company started in February of 2017 as a solopreneur/side hustle for Cathy. As the company evolved and shifted and new voices were added to the company, we decided to create alignment between the outside representation of ourselves with what was already happening inside. The company now has many team members, and the new company name reflects the collective work we all bring to the table.
Things that Will Stay the Same:
Cathy will still be leading the company as the CEO and the Director of Marketing.
Things that Will Be Different:
One of the new things we are focusing on this year as a way to get our brand out into the world is University/Organization facing retreats. This helps us to be in front of you in ways that aren’t necessarily social media but are in your workplace, which is much more aligned with who we are as a company, and who you are as scholars. It also helps us to spread our message on a larger scale where others in your institution will be able to learn from us as well. Reach out to us at support@cathymazak.com if you’re interested in attending one of these retreats!
How and Why We Chose the Name ‘Scholar’s Voice™’:
One of our team members, Yulia, read a book called “Hello My Name is Awesome” and we followed the process laid out in the book on how to create a company name, and Scholar’s Voice was born!
We landed on ‘A New Better Way to Academic’ as the new slogan for our brand on our retreat last August and got positive feedback from some clients on it, so we decided to go for it and make it the official new Scholar’s Voice™ motto.
We thoughtfully considered what both the words Scholar and Voice mean to us and loved the inclusivity and community that the two words evoke.
“The name now echoes their [our clients] contributions as well, not just us as a team of individuals coming together, but also the people that we’re working with which are amazing, wonderful people.” – Rocío
“What we’re trying to do is align our outside presence more towards what we’re like inside, once you join one of our programs.” – Cathy Mazak
